There are a lot of things that I don't agree with Dr. Finkelstein about - but he is an established and outspoken authority on Israel and the history of the jewish occupation of Palestine.

This interview is significant because it illuminates the often ignored and brutal history of jewish occupation in the region. Without this context, it is difficult to have a balanced perspective on the events of October 7th and the current war.

If one listens to the echo chamber of propaganda fostered by the main stream media, one would think this conflict began on October 7th. With this context in mind, it is much easier to understand the level of desperation of the Palestinian people that could lead to these events.
